I was browsing around the Canon site this morning and I was looking at the EOS-1D page. In the upper right hand corner they offered a "Repair Voucher" valued at $100 for registering the camera. I checked a couple other models and the coupon wasn't present. The way it was worded it sounded as if you register any digital EOS model and it would qualify.
Anyone know what's up with this offer ? Is it Canon's way of addressing a few issues that seem to be plaguing some of the models?

It would seem that the only issues it might address would be those that pertain to the 1D, and to the best of my knowledge, there really aren't any. On the other hand, the 1D is a professional body, and is much more likely to see heavy service and thus require occasional servicing. Maybe that's Canon's way of saying thanks to the professionals that buy their high-end gear.

Besides covering the "D" series bodies it also covers any lens that needs service.
