Last one is my favorite. With the grain, they seem to work best for me if he is looking at the camera...

yes it is film. I was having issues with all the grain. I think the place I used to scan the negatives did them very low res. So I think it made the grain worse.

That explains the final look then. I *love* film. I am still a bit sad about making the shift to digital, and on the look out for a great and affordable EOS 1v...

As to your shots, I quite like number 2. It has a great sense of movement. Number 4 comes in a close second. Nice engagement with the subject and setting.
