View Full Version : Two Heads are Better than One ...

Ok so today I did something that I rarely ever do. I busted out the video camera.

A friend of mine asked me to come out to her barn to tape her riding a horse that she was considering the purchase of. So I head out there with camera and tripod in tow. And of course things all fit well. But it wasn't too long after I started that I realized that my trusty 322RC (http://www.adorama.com/BG322RC2.html?searchinfo=322rc&item_no=4) was just not the right tool for this job.

The very features that make it so perfect for still photography made it unbearable to use to take motion video. I thought my hand was never going to stop hurting. So the moral of this little tale is that not every head is perfect for every job.

Before I do that bit again I am going to get a more traditional head with the adjustable rods.

I agree. I've a ball head for photography and a pan head for video. Both work for the opposite use, just not nearly as well.

Likewise,. an excellent and high dollar Video head is not quite right for still photography....
