Hi there! I took some a little while a go and if I remember correctly, she was about 8 or so months. Our main focus was on the belly so these are some that we got. In my case, she had ideas of what she wanted, so your model may have some ideas too. A shot my husband took of me when I was pregnant, I was wearing a white button up shirt and I had it unbuttoned up to the top of my belly. I held my hands with one on top and one on bottom. We did it outside and it was one of my favorite pictures!

She was hesitant about showing her belly, but I talked her into this one and it ended up being one of her favorites.

Just 3 days before she delivered, we went to a remote section of beach and shot nude pictures. They came out great!!! It was neat to be in an outdoor setting.

I personally don't care for pictures of just the belly. I mean, it could be anybody's right? I like to put faces with my pregnancy shoot. Here's one I did last Feb. Not the greatest but at least it's an idea.

We were at the beach here in Santa Cruz in October, when we shot the pics. It was overcast and cool, but it made the lighting a little better. The best shots were taken against a nice rock cliff. She was up and I was shooting up towards her. Basically she stripped naked except for her panties. I took a lot with her leaning against the rocks, one arm across her breasts. They looked natural and showed her pregnant form nicely. That was before I ever owned a digital camera, so all shots were with my old OM1. I would post one, but I do not have a scanner. Have fun, we have only ever planned on having one child, so I am very happy we spent the time getting the pictures. That was 5.5 years ago now.

I've not taken photos of pregnant women, but some of the ideas I have seen have been fully clothed shots, often with the woman showing emotion - thoughtful about the soon-to-be human, happy for what the future holds, sad for the end of an era. Most of them were seated with a soft focus.

You could also try just relaxed photos of the mother-to-be with her partner interacting - resting on the stomach, gazing at each other with hands held over it etc.

I've seen them with the mother laying on her back and with just her belly (a little above and a little below) in the shot. Stick a pair of baby booties or shoes on her stomach; if she knows the gender they can be coloured, otherwise just white. The pictures I've seen were b&w with the booties in colour. I wish I could hunt down a pic; it looks very nice.

I am NOT a fan of the ones where the mother makes her hands into a heart around her belly button. They look so cheesy to me. But that is just my opinion.

Can I do this? Can I post a link to someone's site/gallery?? Let me know if I can't. (Not sure why I wouldn't be allowed but you never know...)

These are lovely!
They remind me of the style my photographer had. Her work is here: http://www.maternitybykoren.com
The gold drapery was the best.
