I am experiencing a shutter jamming problem with the 350D. Bought a brand new 350D with 2-lense kit a few weeks ago... with about 5 in 100 shots, the shutter would jam, as if the mirror lock function is enabled. The only way to get it back to normal is by switching the camera off / on, or by waiting about 30 seconds after which everything pops back to normal and a pure white (clearly over exposed) image is recorded to the CF. This problem occurs with either lense and using any settings imaginable. I've tried everything. This is highly dissapointing, but I'm also fully aware that this is an extremely rare problem and not a general issue with the 350D. Any suggestions?

Welcome to POTN :) I'd say that's a rare fault, return it to where you got it from ASAP for a replacement.

Hmmm, shutter jam, quite nice on toast I believe!

Back to the real world, tim is right, get it back to the shop before you loose some good shot! As it is only a week old, they might swap it on the spot (the camera that is).

Make sure that you do not have mirror lockup enabled. That can cause everything to seem screwy.
