I know this might sound odd...but i'm hesitant to sell my camera...
Here's the situation......I have some debts, that I wanted to get rid of, so I thought, i'd sell my 5D. I put a package together and even had a buyer....then at the last moment couldn't do the sale.
I have a 30D that I was going to keep, but it wasn't enough. I wanted my 5D.
Am I just being dumb?...i mean it's just a camera. Although I do use it a lot to take pics of my 20month old daughter, and now i have another baby on the way.
I guess I was just looking for someone to say that i'm not being crazy.....it is after all......just a camera..... :-(

get a second job or use that camera to make some cash taking pics!!
selling it will only have you ending up buying another one

Actually I do use my camera's to make money....it's just that business has been slow lately. I think that's another reason why I hesitate.....just incase a job comes up. I have a few bookings but they are all for next year.

easy then, don't sell it. ;)
It depends on your debts. If they're things you can handle somehow without selling it. Then don't sell it.
If big men are waiting to break your legs. Then sell it. ;)

LOL...no...no big men. I can handle the debt...i guess I just don't like the debt. When I was making the part time money from photography, it wasn't too bad....now that business is slow, i guess i'm just worrying....

I'm still attached to my 2 cameras, but I got detached from my 70-300/4.5-5.6 DO pretty quickly.

I use my 5D for portraits and that type of thing.
I use my 1DmkII for action type stuff.
My 40D has 1000 clicks on it MAX!
It makes absolutely no sense to hang on to the 40D yet I can not bring myself to sell it.

I haven't named my camera's ....yet...but i'm sure I will. I already refer to them as females.....lol
Anyways, you guys have been great....i don't feel as bad. I'll just start selling other stuff and come up with the money.

I wouldn't sell unless I was giving up photography all together. Replacement cost later on needs to be factored in. I know the 'I hate debt' feeling and sometimes you just want to clear it all up and start clean, but it's usually easier to recognize the love of the camera and then stick with a strict game plan for the debt. Good luck and stay out of the camera and lens forum and you should be fine ;)

Yeah, but I'd rather sell the cards to pay the debt than sell the gear to pay the debt. Who knows, after selling the cards there might be enough left over for some gear. :D

You can make that in 2 hours if you do portrait work. ;)

Girls have complained about the size of their ass even after the liquify tool. If they saw the before ie the reality....they'd have slapped me.
