I made a Photoshop 7 action to format images for uploading to my EE gallery. The action will re-size, mat, frame, add a signature, and create thumb/microthumb copies for uploading. Some samples can be viewed here:

and the action can be downloaded here:

Suggestions for improvements and/or a way to incorporate into a new Style format are welcomed.

That looks great! Thanks for sharing!
The immediate suggestion is to add the color profile conversion in your action because this is for web display. If you look for a Gallerysave_example.atn file in the EE 1.24 installation package, plug that in, and you'll see all the color conversion that Pekka has there. I think that is very necessary to make the image look right on web.
If you incorporate this into your signature frame action, that'll be great.

Help with a couple of issues:
1. How can I change the default signature in the action?
2. It looks like the Selecting frame color does not work right. When I specify black as the frame color, it end up with a gold.
3. It does not work on the Portrait orientation.

You are right, I should have added a convert to srgb step in the conversion steps. Although, I think browsers should be colorsync savvy so that they recognize embedded color space (eg. Adobe) and render colors correctly. At least IE 5.2.2 (Mac) has the option to use colorsync for this purpose. Under preferences>web content just turn on the "Enable Colorsync" button.

1. Toggle the dialog ON for the "Make text layer" step in the action, double click this step, and then type in your name. Turn off record mode after doing this.
2. Turn off the "Color overlay" effect in the frame effects layer.
3. You can duplicate the action and then change the steps that are size specific for portrait orientation images. I've done this and added a second action just for portrait mode:

Thank you very much for another file!
I still have problem with the Text: "Carl Schofield" in Make text layer step. I toggled the dialog ON, it allows me to double click on it and edit the text, but it does not save the text that I typed in to the action. Also I don't know how to save my signature to a specific location on the frame so that I don't have to move it around each time.
Thank you for your kind help!

Try this:
1. Run the action on an image to the last stop point (don't proceed and flatten).
2. Delete the text layer.
3. Select First Mat layer.
4. Select and delete the "Make text layer" step in the action.
5. Select the "Select First Mat layer" step in the action
6. In the action menu, select Start Recording
7. Select the text tool and click at the point where you want your signature.
8. Type in your signature.
9. Click the Stop recording button.

I posted a new version of the frame action with a few improvements. You can now choose between a textured or smooth mat surface, wood, metal, or solid color frame style for either images in landscape or portrait orientation. The display, thumb, and microthumb images are also now saved in srgb color space for the web. Action file is available for download at:

Hello,
This looks like a great Action. I only have a PC, is there any way to convert this to a PC version?
Thanks,
Dennis
