When I try to attach my image that is a
sum of 800 pixels (lenght and width) and
total of less than 100 kb-
the posted images are small.
How can I get the image to fill the width of the screen?
Secondly what is the best way to use PS Elements to resize images (so they meet above criteria)?
Thanks.

Attached images have to be 800 pixels or less... so the only way you can have the "fill the screen" is to drop the resolution of your display.. (which I would not advise)

I don't use elements.. does it have a "save for web" function like Photoshop does?

Hi Joe,

In elements, if it's the same as full photoshop, choose Image -> Resize image. Hit 800 wide in there, and hit ok. Choose File -> Save For Web, adjust the settings until it's small enough, then hit ok.

Hit post reply, then manage attachments, browse, etc. If they're 800 px wide they should take up most of the width of most peoples screens.

RioJoe,

Your problem is that you are resizing to a SUM of 800 pixels (width + height). The requirement is that the width OR height not exceed 800, so make them 800 wide by 533 high for standard 4x6, or vice versa for portaits.

If you want them to be really big you need to put the image (at whatever size you want) on an accessible server somewhere and then use the insert image function to link to it. This gets around the Manage Attachments restriction, and saves PotN both server space and bandwidth.
