I'm really fond of wildlife photography, sometimes you see deer etc running away very fast or birds of prey flying.
I try to capture them wich the manual AV mode on. I wonder if I should use the Sports mode of my D300 to get better results ?
It is no AI Servo on the D300 but I read somewhere that when you are in AF mode and then turn the focus ring of your lens the camera will use a AI Servo mode.
Is this true ?
Looking forward to you reply

I'm not sure if this, but I think sports mode on the 300D uses proper AI servo. It doesn't work in any other mode, even with the hacks.

It doesn't work in any other mode, even with the hacks. I just learned that that statement isn't true! It depends on the lens that you are using:
AI Servo and 300D

So you can manipulata the camera into AI Servo mode.
Going to try this options.
