I just finished it today, Buddha's Birthday. I'm not sure what that signifies except that I'm slow, since it's been nearly five months since the tragedy.

It is staggering to see the destruction that this wave caused.

Thankfully you were able to get to safety and not suffer any injury.

The images of everyday items are a graphic reminder on just how fragile life is and how everything can change in an instant.

The diary is a captivating read and also another reminder on the vagaries of life.

Thank you for reading and commenting. It's much appreciated. You're right about the destruction. We found it unbelievable even though we were looking at it. As Arundhati Roy said in one of my favorite books, The God of Small Things, "things can change in a day." Or in this case, a minute.
