View Full Version : Problems upgrading

I am new to Exhibit Engine - it looks very good.
I installed version 1.22 which worked fine.
I then upgraded to 1.3 which appeared to work fine.

I took some short cuts - but I do not think these have anything to do with the problem: Since I had nothing in the 1.22 set up that I was worried about losing, I did not bother to back everything up, re-name directories etc; I just ran the upgrade over the original.

The exhibition viewer runs fine.

It is my equivalent of http://www.yourserver.com/gallery/foo32423423/ that is the problem. I get the message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ee_stripslashes() in .../gallery/fetchsettings.php on line 48

Hi,

Most likely your ftp program failed to replace all 1.22 files with 1.3RC files. Check that the input folder you uploaded to is indeed the input folder you use (i.e. renamed one).

Thanks Pekka. You were right. By renaiming the input directory on the server and FTPing the whole lot accross again, it has worked.

I have then continued to follow your instructions to finish the upgrade.

I ran:

8. Run Analyze/Repair tool from Utilities page. - this worked fine

9. Make one database backup and restore. - this produced the following error:

Warning: Unknown MySQL Server Host 'SERVERNAME' (2) in .../gallery//backup/index.php on line 448

My .../add/connect.php has the right settings. Should I set them somewhere else?

Yes, EE backup has its own preference file in backup/ee_backup_prefs/preferences.php

This is because EE Backup can handle more than one database. There is a backup/readme.txt for info how to set the preferences.
