Cute shots. These promise to get better as time goes by...and believe me, time will fly. It was only yesterday my 25 yr old was this small. :-)

ayotnoms,

I know how fast time goes by, I have 3 girls, the eldest is nearly 15, the next will be 13 this year and miss photographed above turns 3 in July. Like you said, it only seems like yesterday when my eldest was this age :)

Nice shots!! Great to see sharpness in the eyes with portraits!! The first one is excellent except for the greenish hue to the skin-tone. Have you tried a little Photo Filter in PSCS? That would warm up the skin a little and make her really stand out!! Cute as a button!!!

No I have to admit I get very lost with photoshop! I have no idea what you mean with the photo filter :)

Until recently I have only ever played with paint shop pro, but even with that I only know the basics.

Better but still looks a little greenish.(on my monitor) Do you mind if I take the pic into PS and play around with it for a moment or two?

Ok.........here it is.......tell me if you notice a difference (if not then I will have to recalibrate my monitor!!) oops, put a frame around it (force of habit I guess!!)

That looks completely different, it looks like she was standing in sunshine (not shade, which she was when I took the pic)..I like it.

Can I ask what you did?

Sure!! I am by no means a PS guru; there a lot of people here on this board that are wizards with that software but here is what I did......

1) used the Shadow/highlight tool (this brings out some info in the shadow areas but also can help with skin tones I find.....but you have to use lightly because it will blow out the highlights on the skin really easily)
2) used a touch of saturation
3) Photo Filter tool - warming filter 85 (just a touch)
4) a really small amount of USM (unsharp mask) 102;.3;0

If you email me I can send you the exact settings........this would work much better on the original file. Do you shoot in RAW mode? I highly recommend you do because these fixes are even easier when you convert the RAW data........

Thanks for letting me use the cute photo of your daughter to play with PS (especially nice when I should be working!!):)

Thanks for that info, I will have to play more and try to get use to photoshop.

No I don't shoot in RAW mode, I was unaware of it until I found this forum. That's another thing I will have to read up on and find out what it's all about.

I'm really a novice at photography, I have always been interested in it but I have never had classes or anything :)

You just can't help but smile at images like these.
They take me back to when my daughter was the same age.

Lovely shots and great fun.
