Claudette slowed progress in the Gulf of Mexico, giving the surfers some 3-4 foot waves today in the Gulf off FL panhandle. These first 2 are taken with 70-200 and 1.4x.
While I was there I met a guy, Scott, with a 400 2.8. He let me try that on for size with the 1.4x. Those are #3 &4.
Lost a bit of quality in the shrinkage.
Also my first time inserting links to photobucket so something else new to play with.

Hell yeah! I used to live in FWB and we'd head out when the hurricanes/tropical storms were a day away! I remember 5th street out in Navarre was a great place to take a long board for milder days...Great times! Which pier was that at?

Great pics too! Did you convince yourself that you need a 400 2.8 now?

These are at the Okaloosa Island pier. That lens is nothing but stunning! Just cant justify the expense. Though if I win the lottery new gear would be purchased before a new car.

I know you didnt ask for critique but, .... back off the subject and show the wave a little more. I, and others, like knowing what mother nature has put out there for the surfers.

just sayin' ...

I have never shot surfing before so thanks for the info. The waves were spaced pretty close and some had a nice curl. I'll mix it up a bit in the future.
