When is the first Friday high school football game where you live? All star games and intrasquad games do not count.

My first game is Sept 17. But T&I shots are on Aug 27

My sons first game of the season is on the 28th and the school wants me to cover it but it is looking like my day job will have me doing an install in Pittsburgh at the old Heinz plant. The local youth league starts up on Saturday but I am more likely to be installing a can line in Rochelle IL instead...gotta pay the bills.

Last weekend was the High School Jamborees. The paper I string for already had their staff shooters lined up, so I got to relax one last time on a Friday night. So yeah, that's the 21st when HS Football starts up in my area.

No pads until Thursday, and a good portion of today's first practice was spent timing players in various speed and agility drills.

Eddy Ost sprints to a 5.15 in the 40-yard dash during a portion of Malta's first practice of the season. The Mustangs were timed in a variety of speed and agility drills on the day, with Matthew Brookie leading all players with a 4.68 in the 40.

The 2009 Mustang football season kicked off Aug 17, with players being timed in a variety of speed and agility drills, and starting preparation for their season opener versus the Conrad Cowboys, Sept 4 in Malta.

we actually start out an 8-man jamboree on Thursday Sept. 3rd. Then 2 more days of football with 16 other teams playing on our field. 4 games a day....lots of photo opp.

1st game date--this Friday, 8/28. Will be my first attempt at shooting HS football. Kind of nervous; Kind of excited too. Rigged up my monopod w/swivelhead ... not sure I'm liking a monopod rig since hand-holding is all I've ever done. Going to give it a try from the endzone with action inside the 20 yard line coming at me.
