I tried to put this post into the flash section but didnt get much feedback, maybe this section will prove more fruitful. I recently bought a 580 and am still learning to use it, mostly portraits. Ive heard that some guys are using it for landscapes which is usually what I shoot. However I have never felt the need for a flash when shooting landscapes and so I was thinking maybe I was missing something. I would love to see some shots where external flashes are used in landscapes, if you got a few post them. Thanks

Flash would be useless for landscape shots unless you were attempting to light up the foreground.

Exactly my thought, but ive heard from some guys that they use flash alot and thought some guys in here have some shots to share.

flash for lighting up the forground would be helpful at sunset and sunrise. So you could use fast enough shutter speeds to get nice colors in the sky, and with the flash you could light up forground objects.

I was actually going to start trying this, typically I take multiple exposures and either merge them as an HDR or blend them in photoshop.
