First off, welcome to POTN. We look forward to seeing more of your shots.

In this particular shot ... The WB is off and the shutter speed is too slow, IMO. You need to tweak the WB. Seems a bit on the yellow side to me. But, maybe it's the wall behind here. Also, I think the photo would of came out sharper with a faster shutter. I never shoot below 1/160, hand-held and indoors. The shot seems a tad OOF. I'm guessing motion blur, but you could of missed the focus on the eyes on this one. Which brings up the importance on making sure those snaps have the focus on the eyes. If you are worried about light, then invest in a larger ap lens, flash unit, or up the ISO.

I assume that you are referring to the backwards hat in your comments. Yea, it does look weird. I thought she was strapped to some sorta medical device upon first glance, TBH. I'm glad to find that she isn't, but it doesn't help this photo. I'd also pop the eye color a bit in PP.

Quick question, what lens was this?

Ok..Thanks for the input. Thats what I was looking for. As for the WB, the wall behind her is a pale yellow. When I walked in, she was sitting on her bean bag chair. I liked the yellow wall behind her, but never thought about the results when anyone other than me saw it and had no clue the wall was that color. Lesson learned.

As for the eye focus...the focus WAS on her eyes. I was disappointed too. This wasnt the only shot I took of her. I was set in AV mode 4.5 I believe. Was trying to get as fast a shutter speed as I could get with no flash. I didnt know what else to do with my limited knowledge when the lighting is not great. I guess thats where your higher ISO comes in your speaking of. It never dawned on me. ISO was set at 100, what should I have moved it to from there when I knew the shutter speed was too slow? As soon as it went click on the first shot, I knew it was too slow. Also, I did slightly adjust the eyes and did a terrible job. It was also my first PP attempt.

No, It wasnt mounted on tripod. I wasnt going for a portrait, but was squatting down to get to her level, which obviously caused more camera shake than I thought. (I didnt realize it at the time).

As for the visor being turned around, thats just her. She is truly a phenomenon when it comes to sports. She out plays boys two years older than her and is the talk of the town. She has no girly-girl in her, which makes me proud, but sad in a way too. The other day I told her to go change and to dress up a little. When I was walking by her bathroom I saw her putting some perfume on and was all dolled up. So maybe theirs "hope" of college scholarship and modeling career both!!!! Ok, sorry to get side tracked.

The lens, 28-135 IS. Its the only one I have at the moment.
