If you're using "Sports" mode, the camera will do that for you. That's one of the "virtues" of the Basic modes. They remove any control of camera settings from the user. Try using Tv or Manual, where you'll be able to set shutter speed and ISO.

If you set the shooting mode to Manual, you will have to set the shutter seed. The A400 doesn't have Tv. ISO is also only available in Manual mode on the A400.

No, I can't see this options. Camera has "Shutter speeds from 1 second to 1/1500 second" but there is no way to set it. I am very disapointed with this device. If you can't set exposition, then you'll get only blur pictures when you shoot moving objects.

Set the Mode switch to "Still" (the camera icon), then Camera/M from the Func switch menu. Turn on display info, and you should see shutter speed and aperture there. Around P. 36 of your manual, for Manual mode and press the DIsplay button (p. 26) until you see not just the picture, but the camera settings, while in Shooting mode. You'll use the Omni Selector (p. 14) to change shutter speed/aperture.
