I was wondering...how long does it take for a Bludomain site to appear in the google search results?
Mine went live a couple of days ago (I added the site meta tags).
Even when I type in my domain name www.benscheurer.com it doesn't show up in the google search results.

Usually it may take a week or two to index any changes. You have no content (text) on your home page so I doubt you'll even be found. I noticed you have "Ben Scheurer Photography" as your title tag, but it lists "home page" on my browser (FF3).

Thanks for letting me know about my title tag. I just changed that.
You mentioned that I have no text on my homepage. Bludomain put my site online
without waiting for my request...that's why it's not finished yet. So I'm gonna add text.
I hope that's gonna help with the google search.

Relative content always helps! ;) Adding your location and some of your keyword specialties on your title tag will help. Just don't get carried away with it. Limit your title tag to about 70 characters or less.

One really good way to noticed by google is to use Google Analytics and webmaster tools.
The other is to have content on your sites that is constantly changing.
The more your content chagnes, the more relevent it is, and the more google services you use, the more google loves you.

The funny thing is that when I type in www.benscheurer.com in the google search
this POTN-thread comes up on page one. So this took like half a day. My real site though still doesn't show up.

Your site is probably in the sandbox. Google sandboxes new domain names, sometimes up to 6-8 months.
As was suggested, sign up for a google webmaster account, submit your site, put a sitemap.xml file in your root directory, submit the business info to google maps, and then see if you can get someone that is well indexed, to link to your site.
I'd also recommend as others have, getting more content, changing it up quite often, at least initially, and making sure your site is optimized for search engines, title tags, h1 tags, desired keywords, etc..
The fact that it is a flash-only site is going to make it that much more difficult to get any kind of real visibility (down side to using Flash)

Keep in mind that, you'll always be #1 for your own website. The key is being on the top page for your search words, like "Your town, specialties photographer" or something like that. ;)

Ok, I signed up for the google webmaster account and submitted my site here:

I don't know how to create a sitemap.xml file yet.

I just added a splash page and now my site can be found in the google search.
If you make changes to the site title and description, how long does it usually take
for google to notice that change?

It's usually pretty quick... Google indexes my website a few hundred times a day, so if it will pick up the change at least daily, once you're indexed.
However, this is a perfect reason why it's important to have dynamic content on your site, that gets updated regularly. Google is lazy. If they see that your site hasn't changed from visit to visit, eventually they stop coming as often and in some cases they may not come at all. By keeping regular new content on your site, it forces Google to keep adjusting it's index of your site (something you definitely want, for ranking).

There are online tools that will create a sitemap for you, here's one: http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/
