Its probably on the 2nd peice of glass behind the one closest to the reflex mirror.

is there anyway to get this out? I know i dont really have warrenty on this lense since it wasnt purchased with a body,

Thanks

Take a photo with it and see if it's visible, if it's not then just ignore it. I don't think there's an easy way to get it out.

If you bought it retail, from a regular Canon dealer, you should have a warranty on it, and/or the dealer should give you a return/exchange period. OTOH, if you modified the mount as you seem to be saying - you broke it, you bought it. See if it shows up on your pictures (it shouldn't be noticeable) and if it does, take it to an independent repair shop (Canon might decide to enforce the EF-S limit by replacing the mount).

I have this very same problem with my Prime 50mm 1.8 MKII lens as well. It's brand new and only used a few times. What is more disappointing is that after returning from Canon, the problem happened again. I am guessing it's probably the seal is not very good. Disappointed with Canon Repairs.
