Purchased a site using xml so all changes are done that way. Interesting way to do things, does take a little bit of getting used to.

www.801images.com

Should be interesting to see how your rankings (Google) are in a few weeks.

Hey Matt,

I like everything about it except one thing that really jars the (photographer's) eye:

In getting them to fit the boxes, there is considerable distortion in some of the thumbnail images. Now I don't know if John/Jane Q Public would pick up on that or not but...

Just thought I'd share my "kneejerk" reaction.

It loads fast and I really like how the images come "tumbling" out to fill the page. Size of images is good and they look very clear!

I still love your 801 logo btw...

Hikin,

Yes I am wondering that as well. I put in keywords and the title of the site is solid for google as well.

Jay,

Yeah I did it quickly with a program to get the exact same size for every one (the cookie cutter way) instead of doing it one by one. I think most people won't notice, but like you said some will and get turn off by it.

That is a fix on the list. Anyone have a good program to get thumbnails quickly, that are all the same size?

I tried to really keep the image size down, but quality as high as possible

...other than the fact google pretty much ignores keywords. They now search text content for relivent info. You can blame the spamers and porn sites for google droping the importance of keywords.

I like the site by the way. Other than the sizing problem already mentioned.

I'm thinking your ratings are going to take a hit unless you add some text to your home page. You removed your blog too?

Hikin Mike,

The "blog" is still there in the site. I never really blogged much and it was kind of a hassle to be honest.

I am going to be doing something different I think blogging wise. Since I mostly shoot sports now I will probably link it to a gallery showing the images. But I am not a writer and doing blog entries was tough for me lol

Thanks Dave, that will be fixed as well...had to move my 2008 folder to my computer in order to get the images that were printed.
