Great images. The BG and lighting are very nice.

That is one goofy looking plane!

Goofy? GOOFY?!

The "Super Connie" is (still) the finest example of "Form Following Function" that man ever created in aviation.

You want "Goofy?" Go look at the Dreamlifter. Now that's Goofy!! ;)

Good ones. I've seen 'em fly. On the ground...yeah, goofy! So they're the Gooney Bird of the aircraft industry? :D

Not a bad analogy Frank.

A little awkward on the ground but graceful as hell in flight.

Ditto same here, I think you did a great job of including the environment with the grace of a beaut of an A/C.

Well done.

I thought it was the DC-3 that is affectionately known as the Gooney Bird?

Me too......

That said.... we're parking the Airline History Museum's DC-3 at the same spot tomorrow night. I hope I'm just as lucky!

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley under the departure path for Burbank Airport. I well remember in the early '60s watching Connies climb out from Burbank at takeoff power, full rich and low pitch! The best were the evening takeoffs when it was just dark enough to see the 5 foot long blue flames from the exhaust stacks. A wonderful sight!

Yes indeed, thats where I took my ride from growing up in Glendale. Lockheed always provided great aircraft comings and goings.
