That was a pretty good read. I always wondered who those guys were that got those shots.

Thats a pretty insane work day though.

Greetings All -
I just heard from Clark's mom, and she & Clark will visit me here in Japan on 7/8 September.
I live and work a stone's throw from the ocean, and Clark will try to get a few sunset shots and sunrise shots before heading to Shirigahama near Kamakura. I'll try to shoot him shooting in the water, and although Kamogawa is a major surfing area here in Japan, it pales in comparison to the North Shore where Clark lives. I really like his work.
Cheers,
John

Nothing but respect!

As a surfer, i understand wave logic and how it all works, ill never get rid of the panic you get when a couple of sets comes storming towards you!

Not only is he taking some first class shots he survives some of the beatings he must get sat in the impact zone!

I learnt the hard way, i got pounded by a 3 set death march by mother nature, that was enough to for me to give the ocean ultimate respect! Pinned down, thrown around by a rag doll, you have to be out there to feel the rush of a wave crashing through you...

Great read, A+ pictures im loving it!

If you do venture out into the ocean, with out respect, your going to get hammered, take care guys

Greetings - Spent the morning with Clark talking photos and got to handle his custom made housing for those fantastic shots. A grey day with a typhoon pushing through kept him out of the water here. I'll post a photo ot two of us on land, later. His new book is out November 15th and I reserved a copy. All around nice guy and his photos are breathtaking.
Cheers,
John
