Just what I expected. A new line of P&S cameras. Coming soon: A new Rebel!

I was expecting more. I hope to see something new related to the DSLR's.

Youy guys are quick. Just this morning, I did a search, saw the release, came to POTN, and you guys are on top of this.

I'm totally diggin' the drop in MP for the G11! I have been trying to explain to customers for years that MP more or less don't matter to them, and haven't since the resolution got to about 8MP (as most won't ever make a print larger than 8x10). This helps, and the (hopefully) better IQ as a result of a 1/3 reduction in MP is certainly welcomed!

Very excited by the S90 as well. Can't wait to get my hands on one; it may be the new front-runner for my new compact.

Yeah! I've been waiting for a G11 announcement... I wonder what the video capabilities are.

I've been looking to pick up a camera this size that I can bring to concerts/NBA basketball games!

Too bad no HD video... here are the specs:

• 640 x 480 @ 30fps
• 320 x 240 @ 30fps

thumbs down for not featuring hd video. this would have made a very nice feature packed camera, enough to pull the powershot sx1 users to the g11. again the battle continues: g11 vs sx1

THANK GOODNESS canon got a clue and is cutting back the megapixels. There could be hope yet for the 60D and next 1D.

Canon said themselves that the G11 has HD video, something is amiss here.

Good point. Maybe they learned something from the 50D. We'll see.

I don't want to be a "Donny Downer" here but I'm thoroughly unimpressed by a lack of XXD info. More point and shoots. Meh.

That G11 looks sweet though.

According to the people who spread the rumors, expect D-SLR and lens announcements at the beginning of September.

I'm glad Canon is cutting back on the MP count as well. I bought a 1D classic 4MP camera and I love it so much. The G11 should be a wonderful hit.

Gotta love this... Reason alone to upgrade! :D

"A new Face Self-Timer automatically detects an increase in the number of faces and makes the appropriate adjustments. For instance, to include a photographer's face in a group shot, there's no need to rush in. Just put the camera on a stand or tripod, select the Face Self-Timer, and the camera will wait for the photographer's face to get on-camera before it takes the shot. Motion Detection now tracks moving subjects in a much larger range, and the new Servo AF retains focus on a moving subject after the shutter button is pressed halfway - allowing you to wait for the perfect shot without refocusing. Also, Face Detection and Motion Detection are markedly improved."
