It is a bit overexposed and the whites hurt your eye a bit, but good try playing with DOF. I would suggest the DOF not so shallow, makes me dizzy...:p

I actually like this kind of DOF....it puts you on edge and engages you. I would agree about the exposure though!

Nice photo, I agree though, exposure is off. Man, exposure is a pain! I'm still learning how to use it myself. It's the only thing I'm actually having trouble with right now.

Not a bad photo, but I find the background flowers distracting. I think I would have found an angle that would have minimized the background flowers somewhat. Agreed on the exposure. DOF works both ways for me. I like the shallow DOF provided the important parts of the subject are well focused, but a perfectly sharp flower, front to back, really wows me, so that is what I would look for or at least prefer.

Hi Artan, I like the pink flower but the bright white flower really takes my eye away of what I should be looking at. I tried lowering the levels with PS CS and it made a bit of a difference but not much as you can see. Great picture but cropping it might be the way to go as seen in picture #2. Well done though for a first try :)

Thank you for the replies and great comments, I posted the photo out of the camera on purpose and I see that everyone agrees that it's not as good as i could be. I allways try to take the best photo on spot so it saves me time on the computer.

Hey RAW, what if you could take a picture of the pink rose but also have it so the picture goes on forever? The line of flowers if somewhat more focused might actually make this picture from great to fantastic.

With the sniper rule "One shot, one hit" even though I usually end up taking 100 at any given time. I assume a lot of us here are like that which would explain all the great photos here. :)

I totaly agree...I have taken more shots of the flowers so I will try and post them here...
