Took this while in Illinois. He was very shy, and I had to work hard to get this. I blew it up and cropped it a little to see the detail in his feathers. Hope you like it.

Wow. Beautiful picture of a very colourful duck. Brings out all the different colours and textures. Well done!

Thank you. I hardly knew how to use my camera at the time. Just a lucky shot I guess.

Very pretty. If I may, a little selective sharpening of the eye would make it pop. It's easy to do. In PSCS :
1. Make a copy of the background layer.
2. Make the Copy active.
3. Use USM to make the eye as sharp as you want. Don't worry about how the rest of the image looks.
4. Make the foreground color black.
5. Hold the Alt key and click on the Add Layer Mask Icon. The sharpening is hidden.
6. Make the foreground color white, and using a small brush paint in the sharpening. You can also paint in the sharpening on some of the prominent feather detail.

Your comments are welcome. However, I'm just learning how to use photoshop. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks for the input. Also, I have PS Elements 3. Is that different?

PSE3 doesn't have adjustment layers. You can do the same thing by doing selections using one of the Selection Tools like the Lasso Tool and apply the sharpening.
1.Select Lasso Tool
2. Make a selection of the area to be sharpenened. If you want to do multiple areas the same, hold down the CTRL key as you make additional selections.
3. Apply USM
4. Deselect
You can do this to as many areas as you like.
