Llamas must be a tolerant bunch. The ones near our house share their field with a small horse (and a donkey?).

I agree, the woman that owns this small farm has some of the strangest mix of animals I've ever seen, there are also sheep a couple of donkeys a few farm geese and ducks and god knows what else.

Lonnie; You reminded me of a shot I took a couple of years ago of a Llama that I thought was going to end up eating my camera. I had a tough time taking its picture cause he kept sticking his nose in the lens

Are llamas and Alpacas the same thing?
Caption for the first one, "What do you mean they don't look like me?"

Are llamas and Alpacas the same thing?
Same genus, different species. Interestingly enough they are all members of the camel family.

In Australia a few farmers have Alpacas but they're expensive, I don't think anyone has Llamas. Maybe the quality of wool makes the Alapacas a better option.

Thanks for the comments; Yes it's the alpacha wool that makes them to more valuable.

 Fortunately the two I saw weren't close enough to try eating my equipment. Or Ashley...

Seems like you have some very fiesty Llamas over there in Ireland.
The only thing one ever did to me was try and spit at me, just like a camel

Thanks Marie; I love the barn color also. Shot this in RAW with very little post processing, Tweaked the EV a little and resized and a touch of USM and that was is it so what you see is pretty much true to the barns color.
When they spit ya gotta be quick.
