STL Cards game last year Photo Night

Hey guys just thought I would show you photo night at STL that will be going on again next weekend! They was taken with a Canon A540 so please do not tell me whats wrong. :p388255388256

I can't help myself...you must want some sort of feedback otherwise you wouldn't have posted here? Given the choice, wouldn't you want your shots as good as they can be?

First of all, you've altered the aspect ratio, probably in post processing, so you've "squooshed" the poor players. The player on the top shot has been made thinner, and Pujols is shorter.

On the first one, the horizon is WAY off.

Also, the highlights on Albert's jersey are blown way out (look at the upper part - it's glowing almost nuclear, and there is no fabric detail at all) and both shots have a lot of noise. You have a strong back light, so I would have used flash. Also, Pujols face isn't really in focus. At 1/320s you should have been tack sharp (though he may be too close to focus well).

The exposure on the first shot is better, though.

AS STATED I shot this with a Canon A540 Powershot it is a piece of crap camera I Have a T1i for this years photo shoot at the ballpark I just thought that people would like to see what photonight was in my last posts they thought I was kidding!

Dennis was trying to tell you some things that you can do better next time. Almost none of the suggestions were camera-dependent. The aspect ratios and keeping your camera level is something that will greatly help you improve upon these. Checking focus and using flash when needed is something else that would have improved these, and are things to consider for next time.

Very cool though, not everyone gets photos of their kid with the greatest baseball player of our time. Hopefully you can get some great shots next time around!

Ok guys just got back last weekend from photo night at STL and I finally touched up some with Lightroom please critique one point I had to kneel down due to people wanting to take pics behind me so I understand I should have stood up a little but I do need some help on developing! :cry:
