View Full Version : Alien Bees flickering issue with CSRB+/CST

So I received a CST and CSRB+ today and I've been trying to get it to work with the ABR800 (ringflash)

Here's the problem..the ABR800 and camera works fine, perfectly when used in conjunction with each other (Sync Cable).

When I put the CST in my camera's hotshoe, however, and attach the CSRB+ to the ABR800 (by the little remote cable) - it will not work. The dials all have the same values (channel and the other one) and I can see the CST/CSRB+ communicating with each other when I press the shutter button.
The ABR800 flashes a little bit but just a tiny flicker.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or what's going on?

I'm also using a vagabond II unit..I tried plugging the VII into it's power bar along with plugging the lights into it to see if it would make a difference and still no go.

did you check and make sure they are on the same channel? sometime it gets finniky so make sure they are set the same. As well make sure its 100% in, should get a bulb going off once you plug it in and the power is on.

Yup same channel.

I'll go and try plugging it in more and reshooting, be right back.

OOps :o there goes my LightRules moment...
That was stupid of me..I had the remote cable in instead of the sync cable. I looked over the manual and realized the mistake.
I had it geared up like I was supposed to if I had a commander :o

Working perfectly now:D
