Trying to decide b/t these two - tough decision!
Would be using on a 1Ds.
From what I've read, the 35mm is an overall better lens but I'm wondering if it's wide enough for interior shots and the like even on a full frame?
Slight leaning towards the 24mm and hoping to be able to make up the difference in post-processing but would love some input!
Thanks a ton,
Hannah

I had to make the same choice for my 20D. After all of the advice I got, I decided that the 24 was more useful. But, guess what, I ended up getting the 35 shortly after anyway. It is a tough call, but they are both great.
I shoot weddings and find that fast primes of both lengths are great to have. Only problem at this point is $$$$

If you have 17-40 or such you could "lock it" to 24mm and shoot with it for a day in situations you need it for. If you feel it is too wide then go for 35 (or vice versa).

I had a look at the 24Lmm on my 20D in th local shop. It was a very brief encounter but I didn't take to it at all. It seemed too bulky for the FOV (I wouldn't have minded it it was really wide but it wasn't (34mm equiv) and for what is effectively a 35mm lens it had a lot of distortion top and bottom.
By that I mean that the (straight) counter in the shop was quite curved. too much for my liking. Hope that helps.

Hi everybody,
I am a very new member and english is not my native language, so be indulgent..
I was looking for a semi-wide lens for indoor shots in museum or churches, where flash or tripod is not allowed.
This means that shots are often made wide open and have to be sharp.
I was balancing too between these 2 lenses until I was lucky enough to get the both used in mint condition for the price of bit more than 1 new one
The 35mm has the reputation to be sharper wide open, but I did not see a difference.
Both are superb lenses

Beautiful pictures MOMO. They are all nice and sharp and contrasty.
That is very impressive for the sub F2 apertures.

A little off topic but has anybody found a good place where the 35 f/1.4 is in stock. B&H always seems to be out of it.

Get the 24mm. Best coverage without fisheye. 35mm isnt much better than a 50mm.
