Well, after about an hour of searching and a dozen keywords, I'm out of ideas, and still haven't come up with a thread asking a similar question.
I recently became aware that a mountain bike clothing company (www.jettmtb.com) saw one of my photos (of a sponsored rider) and is looking to contact me. I'm assuming they're looking to purchase at least that one photo, or *crossing my fingers* want to hire me for a shoot of their gear. I'm completely new to the business side of photography, so here are my questions:
In case they want to use my photo on their website or in their ads, what is a ballpark range to charge? I'm assuming photos for commercial type things generally are "worth" more than shots for individuals. They're certainly not a HUGE company, and are local, but they are a company nonetheless, so I don't want to under-quote them, nor do I want to scare them away.
I'm also looking for ballpark figures for a photoshoot, if that becomes a possibility. I was thinking about a flat rate for the shoot, then charge for individual photos. Perhaps that's too complicated and it's easier to come up with a one-time fee?
I appreciate the help!
