I was at a game when the ball hit the backboard really hard and sent a camera crashing to the floor. It seemed like everyone--- the players included--- grabbed their heads and said "oh...my...God..." It was unbelievable.

I've imagined myself working behind the goal, and I just can't see how those guys do it.

But you and the other photographers were the only ones concerned about the camera! The custodian was thinking of his poor floor, the other team were just glad they weren't trying to block the shot, and everyone else was visualizing being under the camera when it came down.
