Hello everyone I have a 3 year old canon slr that I have been playing with. I went to cali for a few days and had the best time ever. I hope to move there in a few years. Anyway here are some of the pictures I took while I was there.

Flight to Arizona first

That night I went out and started playing with my shutter speeds on my SLR it was a bit of fun to do.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but the rules are 8 images per thread.

Hope you enjoyed your trip to my backyard :)

Pics are not bad at all. Buy a circular polarizer, that'll give some punch to your pics. But then again, who am I to give advice, lol. Just keep shooting.

For me you could:
1: add a circular polarizer
2: use a tripod
3: nice view despite i don't like traffic
4: a little cut on the left and tripod so you avoid high iso and also obtain sharp image
5: use a correct allignment and cut on the right and on the bottom
6: correct the perspective distorsion of the build on the left and a little cut on the left (but leaving visible the inscription)
7: avoid photographed against the sun
8: avoid f/16 for diffraction, add a circular polarizer
9: a little cut on the bottom
10: quite nice
11: add a circular polarizer
12: a little cut on the left (for exclude the thing pink)

Clearly always use a len hood when you have the Sun lateral.

add a circular polarizer and that would be?

For example:
Hoya Pro1D Circular PL (http://www.hoyafilter.com/products/hoya/pro1d-04.html)
or another good brand as for example B+W.

Your sensor is filthy. Might be time to clean it. You might also want to work on your cloning skills. Whatever you tried to clone out smack in the middle of the photo is terribly obvious.

My lens I always try to keep it as clean as possible. It is not filthy. Also what are you asking about and what is HB?

Also that shot was just one took just to show where I was heading.

HB probably meant Huntington Beach.

dont get too defensive just yet. you did post in a photography forum that tends to take pictures rather seriously....not some random blog site. expect criticism because you will get some here. good news is, it helps.

the sensor is inside your camera behind the lens, and yes, its very dirty.

also, i would include something of interest in your shots. some closer shots of the people. some wide shots of a crowd. something that tells a story or expresses an art. these are, for the most part, rather generic......much like mine...lol.

however, i also think i saw somewhere that you can add more photos to a thread IF you are requested to. and, i saw a request. i would check the rules and add more, if i am thinking correctly. or, start another thread. i, for one, would love to see more cali shots.....dirty sensor or not. i just like seeing where people have been.

So would I use a can of compressed air and some q tips to clean it? Also there are more pics in another thread called Cali pics part 2. I do not mind criticism. I actually like people to say stuff like this rather than just nice pictures.
