HI,
Has anyone any experience with the sigma 2x converter ? Pros/cons. Is there a big difference with Canon's 2x converter ?
Thanks

I can't comment on the Canon 2x but I'm pleased with the Sigma 2x. Most of the photos at the url below were taken with the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 and the Sigma 2x.

nice shots Dale, I am very impressed with your color and sharpness! I have seriously considerad Sigmas 70-200 2.8 and the 2x converter. With that converter on the D60 I guess it would be a 224-640 f/5.6?
That would be COOL! thanks, Tim

Thank you. All were shot in RAW and converted to linear tiff then processed with Pekka's LS342. I've been very pleased with the Sigma Lenses I have. I can't compare them to Canon L but the price is right. :)

Dale,
Does your Sigma 20-200 auto focus with the Sigma 2x on your Canon D30? Have you heard whether or not it would work on the D60?
Thanks,
Bill F.

I use my Sigma 2x converter often with my Sigma 4.5-6.3 50-500 lens. It does the job, but you need good light and a tri-pod. It is very hard to hold that big bugger still and get a clear shot with out. Though it becomes strictly manual focus, it is still good. I have yet to win the Lotto to purchase all of my dream "L" glass.

Bill,
I don't have a 20-200 but the auto focus wotks fine when using the 2x with the 70-200 with the D30. I use a monopod when I use that combo. I don't see why the same combo wouldn't work with the D60.

I used the 2x and a 70-200 2.8 on a d-60 with no problems. A/f works fine. I thought the 2x was a little fuzzy and returned mine. But yes it works.
