I just thought it would be nice to start an different thread where people can post the thoughts and thanks with regard to the POTN strap when the receive it.

I just recieved mine here in the UK today and i am extremely impressed and would like to say thanks to all those who made this happen.

Especially to Philip Casciola for all his hard work and efforts in what must have been a time consuming project.

THANKS DUDE........I LOVE IT!

Got mine on Monday, definitely worth the wait. I hit one with the Sharpie, installed it, and went directly to my daughter's school for the Spring concert to shoot away.

Thanks to Phil, Pekka, and all the others that had a hand in this.

Have Fun,

If you have a Credit card, you don't need a Paypal account. Just check the first post on the POTN strap topic:

The page I put up uses Paypal for all the payments, but this does not mean you have to set up a Paypal account to buy one. If you do not have a Paypal account and do not wish to open one at this time, just start your checkout process as normal and look for where it says:
http://www.casciola.com/potn/paypal.gif

This will enable you to pay by credit card rather than using a Paypal transfer. Either way, please make sure you have the correct shipping information in there at checkout time since the mailing labels will automatically printed through Paypal for most of the orders.

[snip...]

Sorry, ordering is temporarily on hold again while we get caught up on orders

Note that you cannot order at the moment..

For a change I would like to thank YOU who ordered the strap and supported this site. I can't say how proud and happy I am to be part of this wonderful community.

PS. We made a little poem about the strap which was originally supposed to be included as a thanks note in post packages, but for weight reasons was left out. Here it is now for all of you:

I do not use paypal but wanted one. Have asked 3 times how to get one with no luck. Can someone get me one please? Thanks.Sorry, I missed this one. Rob pretty much covered the credit card part. You do not need to have a Paypal account to purchase from a seller that uses Paypal as their payment/credit card processor. It just makes it easier for us to accept many different payment methods, and in my opinion they provide the best protection for buyers and sellers. You can check out using most major credit cards without having to open a Paypal account.

The ordering page should be back online within a day or two. I just wanted to make sure Op/Tech had shipped the rest of our order before placing an order for more straps since we were a couple of weeks behind schedule with the first order.

I haven't got mine yet but I've used an the strap in question for quite some time now and it is without a doubt the best strap out there right now.

It has been an honor to play a small part in the arranging of this. The hardest part has been done by Phil. I doubt that when he volunteered to do this that he realized the magnitude of this task. Thank you Phil for taking on such an undaunting task.

I wait patiently for my straps while someone a few blocks away from me has his and has made sure that I know it. I saw them up close and personal with a visit to the OpTech facility in April. They are certainly worth the wait.

I hardly ever go to any other forum boards. Has anyone heard anything on any of the other boards about our little adventure.

Well if i remember correctly, there was some talk about this on the Fred Miranda site, I think we some of them order our strap, and gained some new members from that site. I think they even thought about doing something similar, but I didn't follow it.

Oh, And Thank You for the Strap. Third coat of sharpie red going on now.

Got mine today and imediately put it on my 20D. I really love the quick release feature, as I think the strap gets in the way alot and hate the process of removing/reattaching the OEM strap. And it feels great, too. Camera feels lighter, blah, blah, blah...

I was wondering the same question, since here in Italy sharpies seems to be non existent. Any suggestion ?

Or, to be more specific: what are the "technical specifications" of a Sharpie ? :D

We can probably find something locally with a different name and same specs.

Or I can ask Phil to sharpie mine before shipping :D :D :D

Thank you very much for the great idea, selection of a good strap, and all the logistics of getting them to us. I got mine just in time for a trip to Washington, DC over the Memorial Day weekend. Carried my D60 + 70-200L f2/8 IS (one heavy piece of equipment) that would have killed my neck with the kit strap. Through the zoo (the one with four-legged animals as well as the rest of the city) it felt just great. Many thanks!

Thanks a lot. That's fantastic.

I think we can say "Thank you" sending Pekka a couple of 4"x6" prints of your town. :) Just put the name of the town, country...
It will be a nice collection... :) What do you think?

Got mine last week. It really is soft and comfortable.
It's RED and, after some work with the sharpie, it looks a million bucks.
Thanks Phill, Pekka and all involved.

I got mine in green (not sure why) and I love it. Really distributes the weight so much better than the original canon strap.

mine is black, and very nice, indeed. i will wait to color it when i get some L glass. ;) that canon strap never even made it onto my XT. it's sitting somewhere in this pile of mess i call my desk.

Edit: I've always wanted to support the site and do my bit for Pekka1 but afraid that it won't fit the G6 camera. But you have got the G6 right?:o

The blur effect was on purpose...;) ...yes it fits on the G6, and the photo was taken with the G6...cheers.

Put it to good use today! I love it, and parade it proudly :) Does a great job with distributing the weight of my new tele lens. Little grippy bits on the underside makes it a little more comforting to have slung over one shoulder, nice and grippy!

Thanks again for giving us the oppurtunity to purchase such a fine product!

Got mine last night - looks good - and I like that you can unclip it and make a hand strap (I know that defeats the object of having PTON all over it - but thats why I bbought 2 patches as well ;) )

Ok not a strap but a vest !

My vest arrived this morning. XXL fits like a glove - Perfect. Many thanks to Phill who even PM'd me to check the size I ordered as I did not look like an XXL in the pictures he had seen of me here :D. (How many more ways can you like this guy?)

I got my first strap today. It took me longer to get the Canon strap off than the POTN strap on. The stretchy part was a surprise but as others have said it is very comfortable. I think I am really going to like this strap.

I have the strap mounted Canon remote which will not fit on the POTN strap. Anyone figure this out yet?

http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=62858&page=60Thanks for the link. I'll admit to not searching for the solution.

I was kind of thinking along those lines. I didn't even mention the eyepiece cap but it is covered in this link also.

None of these MINOR issues are deal breakers for this great camera strap.

Thanks again pcasciola,
Tom

I got my strap some time ago but haven't been around other than for a quick stop to check the water. The strap is great! And now I see that there is more POTN gear available and more in the works... That's not good for the pocket book :o

Lately I've been shoring up my fishing gear and am in the process of building a new house so I've been relatively safe from making camera expenditures. That vest though... would be much better than using my fishing vest for photography ventures ;). Gonna have to get me one of those!

Thanks Phil & Co. for fueling the obsession. And with quality kit no less!

got my strap too today. I like it, I see how it takes weight off and distributes it evenly. I wish though, that the edges or corners of the neck part were "finished". It looks like someone had a scissor and just cut through a whole sheet of whatever the material is. :D

Love the way it can "hot drop" the neck part for those portrait shots.

Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you!
This is the most comfortable strap I have ever had!It will definitely make a long day of touring the island easier on the neck. :-)
