After struggling in the dark with my 40D, I decided to pick up a 50D to serve as a second body and to give me some options for trying higher ISOs for night games. Verdict so far is that it is OK. If exposure and such is good then with NR applied I can get some useable (for web and general viewing and small prints) images. While the IQ is not great, it seems better that what I would have gotten with blurrier (more motion blur), 3200 ISO 40D images and with same or similar noise.

In good light and at 3200 ISO the 50D seems to be performing as well as the 40D did (despite some reports and reviews of pixel softness). So far so good! See what you think!

Oh and the last shot is not really any baseball action but it was action of another type!

I think your shots look just fine. I use 6400 as well shooting night soccer games and that 1 additional stop helps a lot. Well done!

50D and iso don't go well together.

Nothing a little plug-in won't clean up, though you will lose image quality. Nice shots.
