I must be the only person on this earth who can't figure how to put on the E1 handgrip. I have the Rebel XT with the BG-E3 battery grip. I recieved the genuine Canon E1 grip in original packaging. No instructions and all I see is the strap, the padded grip and two thingies attached to one side of the strap. One thingy is plastic and the other thingy is metal.
PLEASE help!!!
Thanks,
Nicholas

You're not the only one. Took me an hour or so, even with the instructions (which were included in the grip manual). A hint for you, follow the instructions step by step (literally) and with the metal thingy, you will see there are 2 sizes of slot in it. The smaller of the 3 isn't used, it's to connect up a neck strap. I spent 15 minutes trying to thread the double thickness of strap through this small slot before I realised this.

Oh bless you both!!! Thanks for helping out. I'm surprised mine didn't have the instruction. Regardless now I know I have it on right!!!
Many thanks... Nicholas:)

That's one of the little Canon mysteries. They don't include the directions with the E1---you have to get them out of the camera manual.
