I think #1 is mine... Because I was there, and knew she had had about enough. That look is classic. :)

Thanks BTW

great shots, what kind of PP do you use?

Different Tech for different shots... Always start in RAW, make any WB adjustments there, then import into PS. I just use combo's of level, curves, color & masks, in LR's. These were warm right out of the camera (how I wanted them) and just played that up. Then I through a mask on the eyes to get them to "pop". And finished. Reduce for web, sharpen, save.

There is a few different ways. One, you can use a circle marquee + get the eyes circled, then adjust levels, color, etc... just on the eyes.
Or, you can ad a mask, soft white brush @ 30% opacity, and "brush" the eyes.

Hi GCRollo, Do you take your photos in RAW? If taken jpeg do you still start out PP in RAW? I'm just learning PS and I'm overwhelmed with where to start. It seems like there's so many different ways to do the same thing.
Your photos are awesome! I too love the eye effect and would like to try & reproduce that. Thanks

Hi Siggy,

Yes, I only shoot in RAW. I Start my processing there. Make a few tweaks if needed (Only exposure & WB correction)... Export to JPG, then into PS.

I'm not a heavy PP... Little tweaks on curves, levels, etc... A few layer Mask for eyes, when needed.... Color Correction. But, most my stuff comes out the camera about where I want it. That's the real trick, and just takes time shooting, again, and again, and again.

I've been working in PS for over 10 years now. It was not something learned overnight, and everybody has their own techniques. We can all get to about the same place using any number of functions. I would suggest looking into your local art collage for PS classes. Hopefully specific to photography, but a general knowledge class will be a good start.

Every picture is a little different and requires different skill sets, so its hard for people to really "tell" you how they did something on forums such as these.

To start, look into free Photoshop Actions. You can download and run them. Look at what they're doing in the action to get used to different Techs. Soon you'll learn to make your own...

Hope this helps.

I like them, be careful with busy backgrounds, they distract a lot. My favorite is number 2. Keep up the good work. If you have time check my site and let me know waht you think, I'd love to hear your feedback. Good luck.
