I am new to learning the ins and outs of photography and would appreciate some feedback. I took this spider web picture and did some editing to it. I am posting two photos of the same shot. On one image, I put a solid black frame around it to bring the eye into the spider web. By all means it is not even close to a professional level of work, but I would like feedback to help me improve upon work. Thanks for Looking!!!!!:)

I like the orginal better than the edited version. The "bordering" just takes away from the shot because of it's style.

In my experience, spider webs are a tough subject. You have to get close to fill the frame. Then you're dealing with depth of field. If there's any breeze at all, it's moving. You have to worry about the background. Your image is better than anything I've ever gotten. However, all that green steals the eye from the web.
You might try different times of the day when the light is at a different angle. Perhaps also try flash techniques. You discovered a nice web, but I think you could capture it better. If you can find the spider, perhaps you can convince her to spin it in a more advantageous location tonight. Offer her a percentage.
