Last week i tried, with my 70-200 2.8 and 1.4x con, to make some foto's of the moon. The thing i noticed when i tried to focus manual is that i didn't have to turn the focus ring compleet to infinity. It just focussed just voor the end of its compleet stop. Now i would say the distance to the moon could be infinity ??: .
Does anyone have a explanation for this?

When I bought my OM1 and several lenses 20 years ago I was told the "professional" models over-focus. The OM1 was a favorite to take to extreme cold areas (K2, Mt Everest, Antarctic, etc). At extreme cold temperatures the glass contracts a bit and hence changes the focusing. The little extra infinity focus allows it to actually be in focus at these extreme conditions. I've never tried it myself, and have never found definitive proof, but it convinced me. :)

My E-10 did that, it was really annoying shooting a complete lunar eclipse, the first shots were out of focus and I had to do the rest manually.
