Hi all. I have not been here in a long long time, and I am just getting back into getting all of my pictures on a disk- I am a bit lazy..... Anyhoo, when I copy a file from 'My Pictures' to the D:drive ( to copy to a disk) I keep getting a message that says

"The File 'Thumbs' has extra information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be effected"

what are thumbs? Do I need them? I notice they are on every file....

Thumbs are small images that stand-in for larger ones like on the web when you click to see the larger images. I'm not sure what the "extra information attached" is referring to. Maybe the info that XP uses to display thumbs/images faster?

They are thumbnails. I don't think you'll have a problem. "The contents of the file will not be effected"
