Hi, I'm new here... got my EOS 350D a week ago and I'm really amazed by it. This is my first dSLR (but not digital cam) and it brings back memories! :)

Awesome pictures!

Cheers!

Hey there, Mel! I just picked mine up today. I haven't had time to shoot much yet but when I figure the thing out and figure out how to post pics, you all will see the hopefully great results.

Hey Guys,

I posted earlier but it didn't got through from some strange reasons...

Anyway, you guys are great! Thanks you very much for the warm welcome. I have to tell you that the "clicking" sound alone makes me go back to college photography class... it brings tears down my eyes... :o sorry I've gotten used to those tiny digital cameras that give pseudo clicking that you have to turn off after a while because you you realize... who are you kiddin?! :D

More tears comes down when you see how good the pictures are! I love this new toy of mine!

Again, thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Cheers!

Mel

PS.

Please pardon the late response... time diff is a real bummer...

Hey Guys,

A few pictures I took using my Rebel... Please be gentle...

The first picture was taken early in the morning... the other one just before dusk, that is why it's a little dark... These pics was taken around the house... I haven't really have the time to go around and take pictures...

Cheers!

Those pictures are great. I am going to be getting my XT shortly (as early as tonight), so I'm no longer the newest member. I am really excited to get my camera and start exploring. I took a HS photo class and agree, that click sound is so exciting.

Welcome!

Good start. Do a forum search for RAW & I think you'll be amazed at what you can get out of that cam.
Here's one of my reasons for using it:

You can get info & a free copy of RawShooter here:

ps.

PhotosGuy, the link is great! I have taken a gig of raw pics which I am now playing around with photoshop and DNG. Great, great great! the thing with Adobe's DNG is that it make the pics a little brighter and less saturated even before you even slide any of the adjustments which makes it a bummer... (maybe it's just me though  ) the RAW convertion of Canon's proprietary Digital Photo Pro looks better and exactly as I shot it. I shot a few using my old seconic light meter and it looks really well. Thanks again for the link!

Just curious, since you state this is your first DSLR, what memories does it bring back?

Thanks again for the warm welcome... I am really glad to be a member of this forum!

To answer FOREST64 question... Rebel reminds me of the "SLR film" (not dSLR) camera I had when I was in college till a few years ago when I moved to digital... I haven't used it for the last couple of years since I got my digital camera. I just remebered how nice it is to take pictures hearing the mechanical click you hear.

Pareng Manny,

Hi Mel,

Welcome to the club. I'm new too, but at least I'm close to your timezone. I just got my new stuff yesterday so am still at the battery charging stage. Won't get any photos 'till the weekend but can't wait. I know what you mean about the clicking sound. I can't wait to hear the flash. I had a Metz years ago and it gave off a brilliant sound when you fired it off.

Shifters.
