I've been spending a lot of time in this forum, just haven't posted much. You all have posted some very good info for newbies like myself to get up to speed. I was lost. All I knew is that I wanted a camera that would take great pictures without the lag time of a p&s camera. After reading thousands of posts and topics, I became more educated and made the decision right for me. Thanks for all your help. When I figure out how to post pics in here, I'll show you what your seeds have sown. (On a side note, my local photo shop thanks you also.)

I went with the black digital rebel xt. I picked up the Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 lens as a decent all around lens. I wanted a decent wide angle and some zoom and this lens blew the doors off the kit lens and isn't too big to carry around as a walk around lens. Anything over 200mm and I'd probably get too much camera shake without IS. Now I get to start saving for a longer zoom. Yeh!

I've got a few sweet guitars that I could take pics of. EVH Wolfgang, Ernie Ball Silhouette Special, Ernie Ball Axis. Meaningless to most people, but you know what they are, guitarman3.

Yup.
You can sell them and buy more glass for your camera
Just start taking pictures of people, once you don't have any guitars left.
Best regards,
Andy

Joe, I'm somewhat familiar with the Ernie Balls but not the Wolfgang. Post some pics and let's see 'em! That way we can critique both the photos and the guitars.
In my day, I was a Gretsch man and still have the orange Chet Atkins Nashville from the mid-60's. I was ready to trade it in for a couple nice L's but the family changed my mind. (That idea would have never entered my mind if it weren't for this forum by the way!) I have to admit that guitar does hold a lot of memories!
