Probably. I am going to see it on the first showing here in Denmark and are considering if I should bring my 20D with 50 mm f/1.4.

15 hours 5 minutes to showtime ......

Brilliant! I don't even know why it didn't hit me. I have tickets to the midnight show (13 more hours here in Chicago!) and I wasn't even planning on bringin the camera. Never even ocurred to me, must be all the star wars hype getting to my head :)

Yep I am going, but I probably won't take my camera, just incase they say no camera, and I'll be assed out from getting in to the show.

Well did ya end up going?

Last night I was shooting some simple shots to be used on a website
www.ballgownsandbeyond.co.nz

Anyway, my crappy pics from the 20D without a good flash are here:

http://wazz*****scity.com/ball.htm (good enough quality for 500pixels)

I was shooting from 8-10pm, and then came home, unloaded pics, editing a few of the 502 I took, and uploaded them, and linked to site. Bedtime was around 2:30am, and now I'm off to work now at just after 8am.

Now where are those Darth Vader's
:D

No, in the end I didn't. I just got out of an early meeting and apparanlty all the real action was at the charity preview screening on Tuesday.

I too had a lot of post processing to do, then an upload to FrogPrints to get them all printed, some portrait work I did a few weeks back, need it too them this weekend.

Those shots aren't too bad, it does the trick! Was that a paid job?

Off to see the final installement of Star Wars on Friday night...

Nope, not paid as far as I can see. I only volunteered for the fun and challenge of shooting something different to my normal landscapes. Shot on Manual, and had to adjust settings a few times, to get it to look good.
They said they could throw in a bit of cash for my time spent, had a free feed, and cost of cds etc. But I said doesn't matter. Getting paid $20 would be more of an insult. ;) Still an amateur :p

I'm not sure when I'm seeing Star Wars.
Might see it by myself...

Here is a short movieclip from the last minute before the movie started. It is pretty dark and not really great quality. But You can probably sense the excitement from the audio....

you have bad taste. There is no story line. Korny dialogue. And bad screen play. Yeah..great fighting scene.. BFD. Truly Lucas is bad, he needed Steven Speilberg to help him on some of the scenes. Truly he's lack story telling skills.

"I love you", Padema. "No.... I LOVE you", Anakin. That is 90210 crap.

Thank god it ended the nightmare last night.

Just got in from watching it over here in the UK. But talking to the cinema staff they told me that they first showed it at 01.15am this morning and the 400 seater theatre was full - the next showing was at 09.00am this morning and when the staff arrived at 07.45am more than 200 people were queuing at the doors. Not bad for a provincial, out-of-town cinema.

The film is fantastic - putting everything into place from all the other episodes.

If you think its a truly a GOOD movie, point out WHY it is good. Make a claim.

And no, I don't think it completely put everything together. It put everything that we already know together. But still my main question is, how does Anakin bring balance to force? Is it because of the birth of Luke/Leia? Because the Light side was in power for so long, that it's the dark side's turn? What?!

General Grievous, Who made him, what is the organic thing in his torso...not even the cartoon series explains that. So what? TV show?

Why was the Dark Sith able to work "hide" himself when there are all these Jedi, it doesn't explain how he was able to do it.

In ROTJ, Luke asks Leia, "Do you remember of our mother?". Leia replies, "She seems to be always sad."

Guess what, unless she has super memory, at birth. Padame had 1.5mins to say the line "At least you know their name". I doubt Leia remember much of her mother....maybe her STEP-MOTHER.

If You had been able to discuss this without resorting to insults I might answer that, but guess what.......

Not to nit pick, but maybe she didn't know she was adopted until after that conversation.

As for the other things, do they need to be explained? Science Fiction works off of the "Willing suspension of disbelief" principal.

Here is a review on MSN of EP3

"Christensen glowers a lot, just as he did in the previous installment, "Attack of the Clones," and his love scenes with Portman are even more embarrassingly banal than they were last time around. Lucas' dialogue is more to blame than the actors, who are repeatedly sabotaged by unspeakable lines."

I have to admit, that I was laughing at those scene than really feeling for them. And it's true. It's all LUCAS's fault.

Oh yeah, and someone explain this to me. In the cartoon series, these top Jedi where beating up all clones like it was bowling pins. Some how they get whacked by Storm troopers within seconds. I guess the Storm Troopers at the moment had "The Dark Force" with them and killed them with ease.

i didnt like it. star wars fans will like it...but as for me, action and visual effects cannot makeup for bad acting, bad scripting, and bad transitions between scenes. (IMO of course)

Hey I am a die hard fan. But the way Lucas slaughter these pre-sequels made me bitter. I wouldn't be watching the 12:01 showing if i wasn't true to the core.

First off, I didn't really like it either, although I thought the light saber battles were pretty good. To (try to) answer the questions above...

In RotJ, Anakin kills the emperor. I believe that was his destiny referred to in the prophecy.

In Ep. I, Yoda says something along the lines of the Sith being able to use the dark side of the force to cloud the "vision" of the Jedi. I believe that is why they are not able to sense Darth Sidious' presence.

Arguments I see here, yes, take to Star Wars forum perhaps best it is. Arguments lead to pain, pain leads to suffering, and suffering leads to blocked posts!

Original subject of this thread, photography, yes. Photos of opening sessions see, I do not.

Well spoken master pete.

It appears those from outside the counsel are unaware of the true nature of the Force.
If the movie had great dialouge, was well acted and directed by someone like Spielberg, it would not be Star Wars.
