I have been sitting home on call for three days and have nothing to do. I must be really bored because I actually started going through old photos. Here are two shots from over a year ago that somehow got lost in my digital darkroom :D . Hope you like them.

The first one doesn't do much for me, but the second I really like. The lush rolling foothills with the runway as the obvious target is really cool. Small, regional airport?

Thanks guys. I should have wrote a caption or something. That's Tri Cities,TN Airport (KTRI). The three cities are Bristol, Johnston, and Kingsport. The nearest point of interest is the Bristol speedway.

Hi Dave
I like the first one. Of course it would be better if you had gotten without the bus.
The second one is nice too but shouldn't you be turning about now to line up on the runway instead of having your camera out.http://www.pbase.com/ssim/image/43186376.jpg

Sheldon,
I think it's because of the bus in the first one that I never posted it on my webpage. Now that the ramp in DCA is all RJs I am kind of sentimental about the scene in the first pic. The bus sort of makes the pic for me. The passenger busses are as much a part of the ramp in DCA as the planes. Funny how that works. I remember taking that photo and thinking, "I wish that bus would get out of the way. I can't remember why I couldn't wait for the bus to move. We were running late for some reason.
In the second pic my first officer was flying, or to be exact the autopilot was still flying. We switch legs. The FO flys one and the captain flys the next. The captain picks who flys first so I always try and figure which legs will have the best lighting and I set it up so that's the FOs leg. The FOs think I am being a nice guy because sometimes they get thrown a bone with my system. Most times the captain sets things up so he gets to do the more fun approaches into LGA or DCA. My FOs are always saying, "Wow, you're letting me do the DC legs. Thanks man, I never get to land in DC."
