When doing your pp work, moving pixels here, there and elsewhere, have you found that the selection of mouse is important? For the PC peeps out there, what mouse do you use and what's so special about it?

I'm using a hardwired, standard-issued, laser-guided, garden-variey Dell mouse. Maybe THAT'S my problem. It can't be me!

As long as it's working properly it shouldn't matter what mouse you use. My Logitech does some strange things when the battery runs low.

That should help a bit. You want high (selectable is a huge plus) DPI, optical, and most importantly, comfortable mouse for PP. I suggest a good gaming mouse+ gaming pad, they kill anything else in terms of accuracy and speed (though ease of use, after training, goes to a tablet input like wacom pads)

I Soooooooooooooooo strongly recommend you grab the low end small tablet size Wacom and use that.

Once you get used to it, it will speed your work 2 to 4x (or more) and give you 10x the precision.

As for mIce,. well,. I've been a "mouse user" for a very long time, and have gone through so many mice and trackballs it's silly.
For both PP and Gaming, I have never managed to get any of the "better" ones, (ie: pricier ones) to behave as well as a decent low end $20.00

Again, not "better" .. truly, the fact is Not even as good.
The more money I put into a mouse, the worse it behaves, the lower the control, and the shorter it lasts before packing up.

I have a drawer filled with about 4 more (..left, it used to be more from back when they were current and I built systems and sold them. I paid $4.00 each in bulk ) of the classic logitech PS2 two button scroll wheel with, yes, a rubber ball inside. These are what I still use on my home system for everything other than PP where I use the Tablet.

My laptop I have the lowest cost $20.00 ) logitech optical (usb, two buttons and scroll wheel)

In another drawer, there are several mice and trackballs that ranged in price from $35-$70.00 from Logitech, MS and some other brands. They all stink, or are broken and stink.

What do you do to the poor things CDS?
Your not sitting on them are you? :p

I have a Logitech G9, which is awesome!
My better half has a MS sidewinder, which is almost as good.

I recently convinced my father to ditch his old mouse and replace it with a Logitech LX8, that is almost as good as my G9, and he is just blown away by how much more accurate it is than his old cheapo budget mouse.

Of course the G9 needed some setting up to get it working as I need it, I had to adjust the dpi setting to a speed I was happy with.
But it is solid, robust and very reliable while being very accurate!

Logitech wired gamer laser mouse with a 3M precision mousing surface with gel wrist rest. I have one for each computer.

I use a Razer Copperhead tempest blue collector's edition. I feel the mouse is kinda like a golfer's putter. Anybody who tries to use my computer, always complain that it is way to fast because I have it set that way. I prefer the feel of Razer mouses because I have small hands and they fit me well. I tried to use other mouses but I usually end up back with the Razer. I also have the diamondback.

I use a Logitech MX Revolution Wireless Laser Mouse which is great. I also have a Wacom Bamboo (not got to grips with it fully yet but it is good too).

I have a Logitech G5 1600 DPI wired laser mouse. Not only is it very precise, it has an on-the-fly DPI switch (three settings) and adjustable weight cartridge. Plus it has a textured grip, wouldn't settle for anything less.

Last time I checked, mice didn't offer pressure sensitivity, so I'll stick with my Wacom ;)

Tablets are the ultimate for precision, but there's a bit of a learning curve to them (for me at least there was).

Mouse wise my choice is Razr Diamondback. A hang over from my gaming days but works a treat for everything except PP.

PP work - time to break out the Wacom Bamboo tablet and pen - the difference is huge and i cant think about PP with anything else now.

I could never understand why people spend so much on a tablet until I started to use my bamboo. But i use my Wacom on my mac and when I get a better one, I will shift it over to my PC. I love my Wacom; now that I am used to it, probably no where near you skill level but I see a better tablet in my future.

I use my Diamondback on my mac but nice to see somebody like the razer. My friends don't like the feel at all.

Logitech G7 and Razer Diamondback(?) here. And a Wacom tablet, but I still can't get the hang of it because I don't force myself to use it.

im a gamer, i have a Logitech G5 with an Icemat (glass mousepad) and a Steelpad (bigger hard surface gaming pad).

the glass mousepad is smoother but gets dirty too quick, so i use the steelpad.
