Spent Saturday down at Harewood Speed Hillclimb for round 2 of their Championship. Reasonable weather, if a bit breezy at times, certainly not the really strong sun you seemed to have at Oulton Park! Here's some shots from the day :-
#1 - One good thing about Harewood is you can get really close to the cars in the Paddock area

#2 - Here's Les Proctor in his OMS SC3, one of the most immaculate cars your likely to see

#3 - There were two Skylines running, here's one of them

#4 - It might not be the real thing, but what a car all the same!

#5 - Some nice Porsches

#6 - and finally David Banner is his bike engined OMS

Would like to say thankyou to KennyG for the monopod panning advice he gave me when we talked at the end of the Croft F3 meet. You were right - a bit wierd to get used to, but the results are well worth it :D .
Cheers,
Simon.

wonderfull quality to all your images, the colour saturation and sharpness is what really makes all of trhese stand out, I also love the way in which your tightly cropped pictures take away all other distractions & once again placing more emphasis on the subject, and what a subject !
Its the Lancia Stratos for me, I recall photographing these on the RAC rally many years ago, you could here them coming about 2 miles away, not so these days with all the sound regs imposed,
( todays cars are far to quiet, you did not get so many spectators strolling along the stage with a lancia at full chat)
I actually run a 66 Lotus Cortina mk 1and the sound of the webbers is music, so I love classic cars.
So put the sound track on please ?? only joking, i think you shots are good enough to imagine the sounds. its about conveying a feeling with ones images.
Well done.

Tell Les you really like his Batmobile, then stand back and wait for the sparks. Someone once told him it looks like Batman should be driving it and he went ballistic. Nice shots by the way.
I presume you will be at Croft on Saturday? I'll be at Oulton Park.
Oh, Harewood sent me tickets - why?

Thanks Ken. Yes I'll be at Croft on Saturday - I have a soft spot for the historics and have been looking forward to this event. Enjoy Oulton Park.
Cheers,
Simon.

Thanks Martin. He didn't have the Stratos going flat chat, but it was still nice to see and hear.
Cheers,
Simon.

Very nice Simon, great vibrant colours, and that Stratos looks fantastic. I was just thinking that Les Proctors car reminded me of the Batmobile and then read Kens post:lol: Hope you enjoy Croft on Saturday, I wont be there either, I'm heading over to Carlisle tomorrow for the Pirelli, it's a pity that they clash as I would have liked to see the historics.
