I like the patterns in the wood. Perhaps I would like to see more of them. I'm not overly keen on the out of focus areas, especially to the left of the nail. Are they PP or bokeh?

It's due to the shallow DOF - not PP. Here's one at f16. Which is better? Are either of them interesting?

F16 is the best IMO.
I'd cut maybe a half inch off the top to balance the part below and above the horizontal line
and to put the nail in a more commanding place.

Yeah sorry. I dont find it interesting. I think a nail like this somewhere else and a different angle, maybe up close on the nail so you really focus on the curve?
