I back up my images on CD (or maybe a DVD still researching that). ButI take my images to a printing house and need a printing disk. I dont want to take my entire back up disks to the print place, since there are only a few I want to print.

I would need a CD-RW for that right? CD-R is recordable- I can add images until the cows come home, but I will never be able to delete them, whereas with CD_RW I can delete the images after I have printed them- Correct???

CD's are sooo cheap.. why worry?

But yes, CD-RW is re-writeable and will fuction as you suspect. I find the whole "RW" technology to be very sketchy though. Seems it doesn't work almost as often as it does.

I'll second what CDS said. CD-R as so cheap I can't think of a reason I'd bother with CD-RW. Also check with your lab of choice, many that will accept images on a CD won't accept CD-RW.

I have an old 256MB CF card that I put images on if I want them printed. More usually I email the pics or, or send them over the web.

I agree with everybody else regarding the CD-RW. They just can't be trusted to be 100% compatible with the labs and if that's the case, you would have just wasted a trip down there. Just burn it to CD-R and you won't have to worry about compatibility.

I still have the original CD-RW that came with my first CD burner back I think in 1997. Never used them :D

DVD-RW works very well, as long as you don't finally close them out until the disk is full. Supposedly, it is better for longevity, supposedly! I haven't been using them long enough to tell.
