Any one care to share their wedding procession or resessional shots and technique used. I am shooting a wedding on Sat in a very dark church. Going there tonight to practice with the dim church lighting. Flash is allowed during the ceremony so I am thrilled about that. Any suggestions and examples would be appreciated. I am shooting the ceremony mainly with a Canon 20d 24-70 F2.8 and 580 ex II flash. I also have a lightsphere but dont really know if it will really help or eat up the light. Any suggestions on that will also be appreciated.

Shoot 2.8 and 800 iso -- what is your other camera and lens? 70-200 works well in a church -- one of my most used ceremony lenses.

I'd maybe rent a prime for the dark church.

Personally Denise I do not like using flash during the ceremony -- I try to capture moments without others really knowing I am there -- it is the couples day -- not yours -
I did weddings for years with several 20D's -- it can certainly be done - but you need to know what you are doing.....and do it well.

I also have another 20d and 70-200 and nifty fifty. Any photo examples?

What technique did you use in a dark church with the 20d? Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

visit my website - I took many of them with a 20D - not sure exactly what you are looking for?

In my opinion - all churches are too dark or the lighting is crappy for perfect photography - shoot in RAW - I am not afraid to shoot 1600 iso - I personally want to over expose a tad - I can always take it down in post processing -- but when you underexpose and try to kick it up in post (especially with the 20D) it tends to be grainy.

I agree with your comment about church lighting and it is kinda hard to bounce the flash when you have high ceilings and brown paneling on the walls. Did you shoot at 1600 with the 20d? I was afraid of going to 800. I guess I could always use some sort of noiseware software for the processional and recessional if needed. Just a little freaked out. This is the darkest church I have ever seen. I will check out your website hopefully their will be some processional shots in a dark church. Thanks for the suggestions all.
