An eventful evening at the track, including a couple of tumbles with the riders involved fortunately walking away unscathed. Here are the pics...

Good shots Gmen, I liked #4 and the last one best. Motorcycles are about the hardest to shoot, at least I found them hard for catching crashes at the peak moment.

In that last one it looks like they are running together, just not sure which one is in the side car LOL

Great captures. I particular like #7 - synchronized skidding of motorcycle!

Excellent shots as always. I love the variety of sports you cover, and you shoot them all very well.

Excellant job. I wish there was a motorcycle track near bye me.

Great pix

What are the settings you are using to get these results and what was the lighting like. Is there much post production on these photos to get the vivid colour or is it straight from the gun.

thanks

Very nice job! I think I like #4 because of the look on the guy's faces in the background...as if to say....OH...that has to hurt! Great shots.

Cheers Dealau... The event started at 7.45pm, so the light was OK to begin with but dwindled fairly rapidly after the first few races. These shots are pretty much straight out of the camera - a little bit of contrast added here and there, some cropping, resized and sharpened for the web - so very little post production really (which is just how I like it!)

#4 and #5 IMHO would be better with a more OOF background, but I can imagine that the time to "think" is practically zero, so these get my vote also.

The others are just spectacular ! Congratulations.

As always - DOF is perfect keeping attention on the subject.... I could learn a dang lot from you...

All I can say is.... WOW! Amazing shots, I love how well you captured the crashes, and especially the shots with all three bikers lined up like that. Great stuff!

Any clues on what camera setup you're using?

Excellent shots Gmen! Used to go and watch the Speedway as a child, and these shots brought quite a few memories back.

Cheers,

Simon.

Nice shots Gmen all are great but one thing that stands out for me,after having seen some of your other work,is how pin sharp they are.

Once again great work

hahaha, thats the stuff gavin. these are awesome!!! looks like the light is there to let you do what you wish instead of what you can get. its only been a couple months and it looks like you have that speedway covered, good on you mate. i am a bit envious as it doesn't look like i picked anything up this summer to shoot so i will be takin it easy til the fall...i will be living vicariously through the shots on the forums and you know i will be checkin in on your work G. keep up that great work kid http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif

Speedway is a very cool sport. Too bad there are no tracks on this continent

Cheers 3oh6! I've been enjoying myself... particularly now that there is half an hour or so of good light... I'm sure you'll find something to shoot during the summer! You never know what's round the corner!
